AMD error 1603 appears while installing or updating drivers especially due to Windows Update failure. Hence, it restricts you from updating the drivers.

How to Fix AMD Error 1603?

Solution 1- Run the SFC Tool

In the beginning, we suggest you run the inbuilt SFC tool before jumping to further solutions.

To apply this solution, first, navigate to the Home Screen of your device and then click on the Start menu.

Then, type ‘cmd’ in the Searching box and press the Ok key. Now, the Command Prompt window will appear on the screen. 

Thereafter, right-click on the Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator option. 

Next, type:’sfc /scannow dism /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth’ within the given field and press the Ok button.

It will run the System File Checker and repair all the corrupt files on your system. 

Finally, reboot your computer and try to install the AMD drivers again. However, if you are still unable to do so, then check out the next solution.

Solution 2- Set the Default Location

Follow these instructions to set the default location:

In the beginning, right-click on This PC folder and choose the Properties option.

Then, what you need to do is to move to the Location tab and after that tap on the Restore Default button to set the original location.

It should look like ‘C:\Users\username\Folder’. Repeat this step for all the other system files.

Solution 3- Delete the AMD Installation Folder
