Step 1- Accessing the Contacts
At first, you have to open the Outlook 2010 program. Wait for some time as the data might take some to load.
Once done, then move to the top of the Outlook toolbar and click on the File tab. With in the File tab, drop-down and choose Options. Then, proceed to the Advanced option.
Here, you should search for the Export section. Next, tap on the Export button. Now, the Export wizard will open.
Step 2- Select the File Format
Thereafter, move to the Import/Export wizard window and click on the ‘Export to a file’ option. Furthermore, click on the Next button.
Next, click on the ‘create a file type’. You can use multiple formats to create the file type. For example,
- If you use Outlook 2010 on a Windows device and wish to import the contacts to a separate program, you may use the Comma Separated Values option (CSV).

Step 3- Export the Contacts from Outlook
After completion of the above two steps, you should choose the type of data that you want to export. Here, you need to select the ‘contacts’ folder and deselect the Mail, Tasks, Notes, and Calendar.
Furthermore, select the folder that you want to export. In case, you use multiple contacts folder, then before completing the export, you should choose the folder. After that, click on the Next button.
Next, ‘Saving up the file’ option will occur on the screen. Afterward, select a folder where you want to save the file.
For that, move to the ‘Save exported file as’. From there, use the browser to select a location in your device. Before saving, create a name for the file and then click on OK.
Proceed to the Export to a file box and click on Next. Once done, click on Finish. Now, the file will be saved on your computer.
Step 4- For the Shared Contacts
At first, right-click on the shared contact’s name and select the ‘Copy Folder’ option. Here, you need to select the Contact folder. Then, follow the above steps. However, this time, you have to select the Sub-folder. Subfolder is also called Contacts or Contacts 1.
