How To Fix “Web Page is Slowing Down Your Browser” on Firefox

1. At first, launch the Mozilla Firefox application.
2. From the Mozilla Firefox browser, select the Menu icon at the top of the right corner.
3. Choose the Add-Ons button from the menu list
4. In the Add-Ons window, select Plugins on the left panel.
5. On the right, click on Options next to the Shockwave Flash entry and unmark the box next to the ‘Enable Adobe Flash protected mode’ button.
6. After performing these steps, restart the browser and then check if the error is resolved or not. 

Solution 2 – Remove Cache Data, Cookies, and Browsing Data

Solution 3 – Update the Graphics Card Driver

The ‘web page is slowing down your browser’ error can be caused by an outdated version of the Graphics card driver. So, you must keep the driver up to date. To update it, follow these directions:

1. Press the Start button and click on Device Manager.
2. From the Device Manager window, locate Display Adapters and select it to expand the section. After that, right-click on the Graphics card driver.
3. Select the Update Driver button to start the update process.
4. Once the update process is complete, restart the system and then check if the problem is gone or not.

Solution 4 – Reinstall the Graphics Card Driver

After updating the Graphics card driver if the error still arises then you need to reinstall it. Sometimes, a corrupted Graphics card driver can cause this error. 

So, you need to uninstall it and then install it correctly. Go through these steps:

1. Open the Device Manager window.
2. Find and select the Display Adapters section to expand it. Choose the Uninstall device button to remove it.

Solution 5 – Turn Off Two Settings in about:: Config

Disabling the two settings in about:: config can eliminate this error on a Windows 10 system. Here are the steps that you need to follow.

1. Open the Mozilla Firefox window.
2. From the Mozilla Firefox window, go to the Address bar and type about:config and then press the Enter button. Now a warning page will appear. 
3. On the about:config window, go to the Search bar and type processHang. Now you will see two entries dom.ipc.processHangMonitor and dom.ipc.reportProcessHangs.
4. Right-click on these entries and select the Toggle button to change the status from True to False.  
5. Then restart the web browser and check to see if this method fixes your issue or not. 

Solution 6 – Problem Appearing with YouTube

If the reason behind this issue is YouTube, then most probably the reason for it is the new design. So, you need to go back to the old version of YouTube.  The following steps will help you:

1. Launch Mozilla Firefox application.
2. Type Youtube.com in the address bar on the window and then hit the Enter button.
3. From the YouTube window, select the Profile picture icon which is located at the top right corner.
